Brief Introduction

Founded in 1952 as “Department of Forestry” and acquiring its current name in 1992, the college is comprised of 6 departments—the Department of Ecology and Environmental Science, the Department of Forest silviculture, the Department of Forest protection, the Department of Forest Genetics and Gene Engineering, the Department of Botany, the Department of Forest resources management, and additionally a center for comprehensive analysis and testing. Among the disciplines it covers, 3 are regarded as national key disciplines, and 4 as key disciplines of the State Forestry Administration.  It offers 8 undergraduate programs, 16 master degree programs and 14 doctorate programs.  The College has a total of 140 faculties and staffs including 1 member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 44 professors, and 32 associate professors. At present, the total number of undergraduate and graduate students is approximately up to 2480.
