Brief Introduction


The graduate education of NFU starts at 1952 and Graduate School was established in 2003. NFU is one of first universities that have been authorized to confer master and doctorate degrees. The university has 2 members of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 4 members of the Disciplinary Appraisal Panels under the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, over 150 supervisors for doctoral students and over 400 supervisors for post-graduate students, 13 professors of national-level Yong Scientists, 81 recipients of Special Government Allowance. There are more than 100 associate professors under the age of 40 and 30 professors under the age of 45.
NFU offers 90 master degree programs, 36 doctorate programs, 7 first-rate disciplines conferring the doctoral degree and 17 first-rate disciplines conferring the master’s degree, and 23 professional master degree programs. There is 1 national key first-rate discipline, 5 national key second-rate disciplines together with another 4 provincial advantage disciplines as well as 7 key disciplines supported by National Forestry Administration. Graduate programs of NFU cover philosophy, law, economics, liberal arts, science, engineering, agriculture and management. It has over 4000 graduate students (680 doctorate students and 2071 master degree students, and about 1500 professional master degree students), and also possesses 5 Post-doctoral Research Stations in Forest Engineering, Forestry, Biology, Agricultural and Forestry Economics and Management and Light Industry Technology and Engineering.
