Collaboration Workshop Between NJFU and UBC Held in NJFU

On May 27, Prof. Wang Guangyu, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Forestry of the University of British Columbia (UBC), and Prof. Scott Renneckar visited NJFU. President Yong Qiang of NJFU attended the workshop and delivered a speech. In his speech, Prof. Yong warmly welcomed t the delegation. He pointed out that the Faculty of Forestry UBC was one of the best forestry colleges in the world; the related disciplines and majors of forestry and forestry engineering were also the traditional advantages and characteristics of NJFU. The cooperation between the two sides could give full play to the teaching and scientific research advantages of the forestry departments of the two universities, and achieve win-win. He said that the cooperation and exchanges between the two universities had achieved fruitful results for a long time, and he hoped that on the basis of the existing cooperation projects, the two sides could work together for cooperation in quality education between China and Canada, and constantly expand new areas of cooperation such as scientific research, personnel training and cultural exchange.

Rehan Sadiq, President of UBC, said that UBC and NJFU had a long history of cooperation, and the two universities had many similarities in educational characteristics and discipline development, and the two sides have a good foundation for cooperation and he was looking forward to deepening the cooperation with NJFU.

At the meeting, the heads of the Office of International Cooperation and the College of International Education introduced the internationalization of NJFU and the implementation of the two existing cooperation projects with UBC. Representatives of the College of Chemical Engineering NJFU and the Faculty of Forestry of UBC conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on the "3+2" cooperative education project, curriculum outline and talent training program of the specialty of forest products and chemical industry, and reached a consensus on the signing of the agreement.
