Delegation of AAMU Visited NJFU
On May 29, a delegation led by Prof. Wang Yong of Alabama A&M University (AAMU) and head of the Global Initiative Program (GIP) of Alabama A&M University (Nanjing Forestry University) visited NJFU. Vice President Yin Tongming attended the welcome ceremony and delivered a welcoming speech.
Prof. Yin Tongming said that Alabama A&M University had a long history and distinctive characteristics, and NJFU and AAMU had been long-term friendly cooperative partners; the two sides had cooperated in academic exchanges, personnel exchanges, cultural exchanges and had achieved fruitful results. He hoped that the two sides would further enhance mutual understanding, deepen cooperation, and promote deeper and higher-level development in ecology, environment, natural resources and urban planning.
Prof. Wang introduced the origin of REUG (Research Experiences for Undergraduates) program of the National Science Foundation of the United States, reviewed the mutual visits and the history of student exchange programs between the two universities since 2010, and fully affirmed the achievements made by the close cooperation between the two universities. He expressed his gratitude to NJFU for providing AAMU students with valuable opportunities to learn more about China, Jiangsu and expanding their humanistic and professional horizons. He believed the continuous implementation of the project would definitely play a positive role in promoting the cooperation and exchanges between China and the United States and promoting the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
At the welcoming ceremony, AAMU student representative Kelsey Elizabeth Hardyman expressed her joy for the opportunity to visit NJFU and her expectations for future exchange activities.
