Delegation of NJFU Visited Belgian and Germany
At the invitation of Ghent University in Belgium and RWTH Aachen University in Germany, a delegation of NJFU led by Vice President Xu Xinwu visit Belgium and Germany from May 26 to June 1.
During his visit to Ghent University in Belgium, the delegation met with Stefaan De Smedt, tenured professor of the University, academician of the Royal Belgian Academy of Medical Sciences and Academician of the European Academy of Sciences, and Luc Taerwe, director of Ghent University's China Platform. At the meeting, the two sides said that they could combine the advantages of the two universities to jointly establish the "Bio+ materials/engineering/breeding" international brand conference; The two sides also had in-depth discussion of exchanging young scholars, jointly applying for international cooperative projects, strengthening CSC program application and joint training of doctoral students.
During the visit to RWTH Aachen University in Germany, Bernd Markert, Chairman of the RWTH Aachen Foundation and Director of the Institute of General Mechanics, and Wu Zufeng, Director of the China Office of the International School, met with the delegation. The two sides had in-depth exchanges on the "4+2" and "3+1+2" joint training projects by the two universities, and reached preliminary intentions on further expanding the scope and scale of the cooperation projects and strengthening the cooperation between teachers and students in scientific research projects. The delegation also visited the Institute of General Mechanics of the University and had a discussion with some of the students of the university who participated in the joint training program and went on to pursue master's or doctoral degrees at RWTH Aachen University. Since the joint training program agreement in 2016, more than 50 students of NJFU have enrolled in postgraduate studies at RWTH Aachen University.
