President Yongqiang Attended Activities in Malaysia
From May 18th to 24th, President Yongqiang and his delegation accompanied the Jiangsu Education delegation to Malaysia and Cambodia to attend the "Jiangsu-Malaysia University Cooperation and Exchange Activity and Study in Jiangsu Exhibition", which was hosted by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education and the Malaysia Education Exchange Association, and organized by Nanjing Forestry University and the National University of Malaysia, and a series of activities such as the "Jiangsu-ASEAN Countries Education Cooperation and Exchange Conference" hosted by the People's Government of Jiangsu Province and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of Cambodia, and organized by the Department of Education of Jiangsu Province.
On the morning of May 20th, the "Jiangsu-Malaysia University Cooperation and Exchange Activity and Study in Jiangsu Exhibition" was held at the National University of Malaysia. Xu Kunlin, the Governor of Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, Tan Kok Wai, a member of Parliament of Malaysia, and Dato 'Sri Kailuddin Shamad, the Chairman of the Council of the Upper House of Malaysia, attended the event and witnessed the launch and unveiling ceremony of the Nanjing Forestry University Zhilin International College, a cooperative education institution between NJFU and the National University of Malaysia, as well as the signing of agreements on scientific research cooperation and international joint laboratories between the two universities. Governor Xu also attended activities such as the exchange of industry-university-research cooperation agreements between NJFU and the Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park in Malaysia. During this period, Governor Xu Kunlin and his delegation visited NJFU's booth for overseas study promotion and the Science Laboratory of the National University of Malaysia. Governor Xu Kunlin hoped that universities in Jiangsu Province and those in Malaysia would further promote cooperation and co-construction, jointly carry out talent cultivation and scientific research cooperation, and produce more high-level educational and scientific research achievements. The event was attended by Secretary-General of the Jiangsu Provincial Government, Lu Deming, and other leaders of the Jiangsu Provincial Government delegation, Deputy Director of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, Yang Shubing, as well as President of the Malaysia Education Exchange Association, Dato’ Dr. Mah Hang Soon, and Advisor to the Minister of Plantation Industries and Indigenous Industries of Malaysia, Dato’ Dr. Tan Yew Chong.
On the afternoon of May 19th, the delegation visited the Ministry of Higher Education of Malaysia. Rosman Nizam Mohammed Nalif, Director of the International Department of the Ministry of Higher Education of Malaysia, received the delegation and said that he would continue to support the educational and research cooperation between the two universities. During his stay in Malaysia, President Yongqiang also visited NJFU alumni studying abroad in Malaysia.
On May 24th, the "Jiangsu-ASEAN Countries Education Cooperation and Exchange Conference" was held at the Khmer-Chinese University of Applied Sciences in Cambodia. Xu Kunlin, Governor of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, Han Chunnalor, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sports of Cambodia, Grand Duke Fang Qiaosheng, President of the Cambodian Chinese Council, Jiang Dailan, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Science and Technology of Indonesia, and Wang Wenbin, Ambassador of China to Cambodia, attended the event. The event was hosted by Yang Shubing, Deputy Director of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education. At the meeting, Nanjing Forestry University, Hohai University, Jiangsu University, Huaiyin Institute of Technology, and Nanjing Institute of Technology, Khmer Chinese University of Applied Sciences, Cambodian Institute of Technology, Duanhua University in Cambodia, Universiti Putra Malaysia in Malaysia, and Royal University of Technology Thamaburi in Thailand jointly launched the "Jiangsu - ASEAN Countries Youth Students Exchange Program".
