A Delegation from Curtin University in Australia Visited NJFU

On the morning of May 26th, Vice President Chris Rawson of Curtin University in Australia led a delegation to visit NJFU. Vice President Yin Tongming attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

Yin Tongming extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He pointed out that Nanjing Forestry University, as a national "Double First-Class" university with a long history and profound cultural heritage, has always adhered to the internationalized educational philosophy of "openness and inclusiveness, mutual learning and mutual benefit", actively promoting international exchanges between teachers and students, and facilitating international cooperation in scientific research and the cultivation of international talents. He said that in recent years, the cooperation and exchanges between the two sides have become increasingly close, with frequent visits and fruitful results. Especially last year, the two sides officially signed a joint training agreement for students majoring in Food Science and Engineering, marking a substantive step forward in the field of talent cultivation for both sides. He looked forward to continuously strengthening exchanges with Curtin University and conducting practical cooperation in areas such as talent cultivation, scientific research collaboration, and faculty exchange.

Chris Rawson highly praised the academic achievements and reputation of NJFU. He introduced the basic situation and internationalization strategy of Curtin University, stating that Curtin University attaches great importance to cooperation and exchanges with Nanjing Forestry University. This visit was not only to promote the implementation of the joint student training program, but also to deepen mutual friendship and cooperation in more fields. He looked forward to strengthening cooperation between the two universities in more fields such as food science and materials science, enhancing communication in jointly building research platforms and conducting international academic exchanges, and establishing a talent cultivation system ranging from joint undergraduate training to overseas prestigious university recommendation programs for postgraduates.

At the meeting, the deans of NJFU respectively introduced the disciplinary characteristics, teaching and research, and international cooperation of each college, and had in-depth discussions with Curtin University on the future cooperation direction. The two sides also had an in-depth exchange on issues such as the connection between joint undergraduate training and master's degree programs, as well as scientific research cooperation between the two universities.
