Research Results of NJFU Published in Progress in Materials Science

Recently, a review article entitled “Frontiers of Advanced Multifunctional Liquid Metal–Wood Composite Materials” has been published in *Progress in Materials Science* (Impact Factor: 40.0), a premier international journal in the field of materials science. The work was led by Academician Jiang Jianchun of our university and synthesizes state-of-the-art advances in the fabrication, functional design, and emerging applications of liquid metal–wood composites—particularly in intelligent systems, energy conversion and storage, and environmental remediation (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.pmatsci.2026.101687). This research was supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the China Association for Science and Technology’s Young Talent Support Program. Wang Mengru, a master’s candidate in the School of Materials Science and Engineering at our university, served as the first author. Academician Jiang Jianchun, Associate Professor Ge Shengbo, Academician Zhang Xuehua, and Professor Ben Bin Xu jointly served as corresponding authors. Our university is the sole institution of primary affiliation and the lead completing unit.
