Research Results of NJFU Published in Journal of the American Chemical Society

Recently, Associate Professor Zhao Binlin from the College of Science at our university, in collaboration with Professor Paolo Melchiorre's team from the University of Bologna, Italy, has made significant progress in the field of olefin dialkylation research. The research team proposed a novel "methyl-selective radical sorting" strategy, achieving regioselectivity and cross-selectivity in the 1,2-dialkylation of activated alkenes through photoinduced nickel catalysis. The relevant research results were published under the title "Methyl-Selective Radical Sorting for the Regio- and Stereoselective Dialkylation of Activated Alkenes" in the Journal of the American Chemical Society (J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2026, 148, 3456934578), an authoritative international journal in the field of chemistry. Our university is the first completing institution for this achievement, and Associate Professor Zhao Binlin from our university is the first author and co-corresponding author of the paper. This research was funded by projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Natural Science Foundation of Jiangsu Province.
