A Delegation of NJFU Visited Brazil and Colombia

From Dec. 3 to 11, Prof. Zhao Maocheng, the chairman of the University Committee, led a delegation to visit Rio de Janeiro State University and National University of Colombia.

During the visit to Rio de Janeiro State University, Prof. Mario Sergio Alves Carneiro, the President of the university, Ms. Cristina Russi Furtado, the Director of International Affairs met with the delegation. The two parties had an in-depth exchange on further international cooperation and academic exchanges between the two universities, and signed a letter of intent. The delegation also visited other scientific research and teaching institutions and facilities such as the Advanced College of Industrial Design, the Marine Research Ship, etc. The delegation held an exchange discussion with the Association of Universities of Rio de Janeiro State (REARI-RJ), and conducted in-depth exchanges with Brazilian universities such as the State University of Rio de Janeiro, the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro State and the Federal University of Fluminense on biodiversity research in the Amazon region. Mr. Wang Weiyu, Deputy Consul-General of the Chinese Consulate General in Rio de Janeiro, the Deputy Secretary General of the Department of Science and Technology of the State Government of Rio de Janeiro, the Consultant of international relations of the State government of Rio de Janeiro and other officials attended the activities.

During the visit to the National University of Colombia, the delegation held discussions with representatives of the international affairs department and relevant colleges, and the two sides had in-depth discussions on students and faculty exchanges, joint scientific research in the field of forestry economy etc.
