Professor Wu Zhihui of NFU Become a Fellow of IAWS
On March 10, International Academy of Wood Science (IAWS) officially notified that Professor Wu Zhihui from the College of Furnishing and Industrial Design of NFU was elected as a Fellow of IAWS.
Founded in 1966, IAWS is the world's most important academic organization in the field of wood science. It aims to promote the development of world wood science, promote the advancement of world forest product processing technology, and realize sustainable forestry management for the benefit of mankind. A fellow of IAWS is the highest honorary academic title in the field of wood science.
Professor Wu Zhihui, a doctoral supervisor, was graduated from NFU with a bachelor's degree in wood machining in 1985. He got the master's degree from NFU in 1988, and has stayed on as a teacher. In 1999, he got the PhD from Tottori University Joint Graduate School in Japan. Prof. Wu is the main founder and academic leader of the "Furniture Design and Engineering" doctoral program and undergraduate program of NFU and have taken the lead in constructing the furniture professional discipline system in China. Prof. Wu has won many national science and technology awards, served in the editorial board of several magazines, published more than 200 papers, authorized more than 20 invention patents, formulated more than 20 national or industry standards, and published 15 monographs and furniture series textbooks.
